CHECK THE MANUAL FIRST

OK, that might seem an odd question, but the term ‘manual’ seems to mean different things to different machine manufacturers. You might think that a manual machine requires manual operation of everything and for some marques you’d be right, but Sauber do things a bit differently and it’s one of the reasons Wolfmach approves the brand.

With a Sauber manual machine, some automated functions are included in the operating routine to provide easier & safer cutting. Lifting the saw bow up after a cut is a manual process, but adjustable tension springs make it simple to optimise the forces required to suit the circumstances.

The downfeed into the cut does not require any pulling on the saw bow, instead it is powered by the weight of the casting but it can also be continuously regulated by the oil damper valve for improved control. And when the cut is completed the motor automatically turns off exactly when it needs to.

Other smart features (such as the rotating turntable ensuring the blade does not cut into the loading surface of the vice) make Sauber manual machines that bit more usable than most competitors’ models. Think of them as a ‘Manual Plus’ or even ‘A bit Auto’ rather than the typical labourintensive ‘Manual’ machines from other manufacturers. You may decide that auto or semi-auto might be the way you should go for your new machine, but before you drain the account on a Rolls-Royce that you might not fully utilise, check out the Sauber manual range first. You could find you can spend Mini money to get everything you need after all.

Of course, Saubers are also great quality and very robust, but it’s this kind of design philosophy, the ‘going the extra mile’ that we really like about the brand and it is something they do with their semi-auto models too, where the only non-automated process is the material feed/unload - everything else is done in one operation carried out with a single press of a button.

But if you really do need the full-on workflow focus of a completely automated machine, Sauber have these covered
too. Throughout the range, Sauber bandsaws are efficient machines that have a clear focus on productivity. That’s why we’re happy to include all of the Sauber bandsaw range in our mission to Increase your Tooling Efficiency.
