We looked long & hard at the mag drill offerings from other companies and we got the feeling that most manufacturers design to a price point rather than a vision of the user's needs.
We think NZ users deserve better, and we made it our mission to source machines that meet the demands of our industry. Countries with much greater population density may have the luxury of widely available repair shops, but our customers need machines they can always rely on.
We needed a manufacturer that employed some radical design thinking behind their products.
So we went out and found one.
At the heart of all Reisen mag drills is the patented Twin Rail Slide System, a novel way of creating the movement essential to the operation of these machines that offers huge advantages over the traditional dovetail method.
This improved method delivers significant benefits from up to TEN TIMES better stability than dovetail systems:

The slide has NO CONTACT with the drill body, resulting in:

We also found that the great majority of the mag drill brands out there do not manufacture their machines themselves, and some just rebrand them. Many have their drills made in outlying factories where the costs are lower. Of course, we love a cost reduction, but with most of these production facilities in Asia or other low-wage regions, the difficulties in controlling quality and supply were not worth the risk.
All our drills are made in the UK manufacturer's own facility, and are powered by the highly respected German-made Eibenstock motors for excellent reliability.

The DMMAG40S is the most affordable swivel-base model in our range bringing the extra versatility of a rotating magnetic foot and also offers a useful increase in capability over the smaller model.
A favourite amongst users who need a little more flexibility from their machine, the swivelling base and twin-handle body casting make this a very usable machine for all but the most demanding operators.

Only 178mm over the cutter and capable of running cutters up to 45mm diameter/55mm deep, this model is a great choice for those who need the access benefits of a low-profile machine but still need the power & capacity for light-medium GP work.
